Specie piuttosto rara, il primo avvistamento di questa specie nel Salento è Agosto 2017 ad opera di Vincenzo Marra, un nostro caro amico che ci ha fatto anche avere le belle foto che pubblichiamo. Due esemplari che sono stati osservati vicino Brindisi a bassa profondità.

Rather rare species, the first sighting of this species in Salento is August 2017 by Vincenzo Marra, a dear friend of ours who also gave us the beautiful photos we publish. Two specimens that have been observed near Brindisi at low depth.

A fine Agosto 2022 abbiamo osservato questa specie a Porto Cesareo (Lecce), 2m, temperatura dell’acqua 30°, Mar Ionio, due esemplari morfologicamente molto differenti, come si può vedere dalle foto. Queste osservazioni ci confermano che il periodo in cui è possibile osservare questa specie, presumibilmente il suo periodo riproduttivo, è durante l’estate a bassa o bassissima profondità con temperatura dell’acqua prossima ai 30°C.

At the end of August 2022 we observed this species in Porto Cesareo (Lecce), 2m, water temperature 30 °, Ionian Sea, two morphologically very different specimens, as can be seen from the photos. These observations confirm that the period in which it is possible to observe this species, presumably its reproductive period, is during the summer season at low or very low depth with water temperatures close to 30 ° C.
